History
of Golden Values School
The Golden Values School story began in
1979 when Mr. Bob Garon learned that his wife
Emmy was pregnant with their first born, Vanessa.
They of course were very happy. Like all parents,
they began to plan for their child.
They decided it was vital for Vanessa to get an
early start in school. However, they not only
wanted her to learn the ABC's quickly and early, but
they also were
concerned about her values formation. Because
of their vast experience in counseling and rehabilitation
of drug dependents and troubled adolescents, they
were convinced that the early years are key
in molding character and personality.
They began searching for a preschool that would
respond to their concerns. To make a long story
short, they decided to put up their own school
in order to incorporate their own ideas into the
curriculum. From the very beginning, they had
no intention of expanding into many schools or
plan to add a grade school or high school. However,
the little preschool eventually became many and
what was known to just be a preschool eventually
became many and what was known to just be a Preschool,
has now a growing Grade school and High school
population. |
Today Golden Values School has become known for its quality education with a special emphasis
on character and personality development. Most
parents enroll their children in GVS because
of the small classes, the very personalized attention
each child gets and the high academic and values standards of the school.
What
is as important in the formation of success in life
is CHARACTER or the emotional quotient. An
intelligent child who lacks character and values will
not make it to the top in life. We all know this form
observation and experience. In Mr. Garon's many years
as a counselor and consultant to hundreds of corporations,
he has seen that the children who can develop proper
attitudes and values, who can acquire the right study
habits are the ones who later on in life become successful.
The
challenge for the parents lies in providing the right
kind of environment for all these to happen. It starts
in the home but does not end there. Children need
to be exposed to the world. GVS serves to be a
bridge between the home and the world. It is a
gradual friendly introduction to the world where your
child will learn to interact and live together while
they acquire solid attitudes and values as well as
a strong foundation.
